ALEXANDRA HEADLANDS KITCHEN
KITCHEN DESIGN SERVICES
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The brief for this home involved its transformation into a stunning refurbished beach house with a hint of an eastern influence, in which the new design was sympathetic to the existing architecture. This was achieved by a combination of, nearly black engineered stone, satin 2 pac in white, glass splash backs and American Oak timber battens, which helped depict the simplicity and sharp light/dark contrast often found in eastern artwork.
One of the interesting features within the Kitchen was the integration of 2 structural columns within the island bench. This helped to define the focal point within the large open plan space, drawing the eye to the details which made up the island bench design. White painted bulkhead with the white kitchen cabinetry at the back becomes the backdrop and highlights the timber and tactile elements and finishes selected for the space. Selection of lighting was also another key service provided for this project, where the group of timber pendants selected over the key areas create a sense of rhythm and warmth, linking to the qualities of the timber floor and other timber features.
