MALENY HINTERLAND BATHROOM
BATHROOM DESIGN SERVICES
PROJECT OVERVIEW
This beautiful country cottage was relocated from another property and placed in the rainforest setting in the Maleny Hinterland. When we first arrived at the Maleny Cottage, it was astounding to see the timber craftsmanship all throughout the interior, especially that of the bathroom and the powder room. Wanting to keep the character that was already present in the existing structure, it was decided to retain a large portion of the original elements and textures. The elements that we refurbished were the timber framed windows with glazing bars, some extent of VJ wall panelling and the claw-foot bathtub.
Interiority was commissioned to refurbish the Main Bathroom and Powder Room, in an appropriate style with Hampton’s overtones (originally in 1940’s Edwardian style). This was executed with the use of neutral paint colours and classic finishes. Fundamentally using a white and grey palette and adding texture through the timber, the tactile tile selection and the modern classic wallpaper. A clever selection of pendant lighting and plumbing fixtures were made to reinforce the cozy, country style and to blend the existing elements.
